Artist Summary

Mary Borges

Painting has been a passion of mine since I picked up a brush early in life.  I have had the honor of studying under some wonderful artists.  As a graduate of UC Davis I had the luxury of taking classes from known artists Wayne Thiebaud, Roy Deforest, and sculptor Manual Neri.  My paintings are with acrylic paints but I do some mixed media by adding paper to the canvas.  My love for animals, the ocean, sailing and nature are the focus for many of my paintings. www.maryborges.com

Linda Luisi

Muralist Linda Luisi, resident of La Costa, has 25 years experience creating murals and custom paintings for hospitals and resorts across the United States (BFA Degree: Tufts University; The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston). Her murals and paintings are recognized for their clever content and depth. Linda gives private and group lessons. www.LindaLuisi.com

Rosemary Valente

La Costa resident of 12 years, Rosemary Valente is best known for her work with expressionist landscape paintings done in simple spreads of bold acrylic and oil colors.  This application of color emphasizes form, creates harmony and evokes emotions.  She earned her masters in art at the University of Hawaii and has taught painting to students of all ages.  Her work can be found in personal and corporate collections in the US and abroad.  Visit her web site at www.rosemary.valente.com

Donald Pallia

New to the La Costa area, Don moved from Redlands, California where he was a member of the Redlands Art Association and the Loma Linda University Art Association.  He paints in acrylics and mixed media using photography as an inspiration to draw from.  He has exhibited at the Riverside Art Museum, the Redlands Art gallery and is currently exhibiting at the COAL gallery in Carlsbad.

Malsu (Sue) Paparisto

Sue is a graduate of California Design College (Art Institutes of Los Angeles) and her interests range from fashion design to fine art. Over the last years she has focused on woodblock carving, studying techniques based on ancient Asian art. She finds most of her inspiration from nature and places she has visited.

Diane O’Connell

Art is a passion of mine and I love working in a variety of mediums: oil, watercolor and collage. My art focuses on capturing the beauty of nature and my appreciation for the awesome area where I live.

Rita Shulak

My painting captures the intensity of light and color with a moving, deceptively simple, yet sensitive, painting style.  Art should draw you into a place of serenity where one wants to linger.

Malgorzata Kaganiuk

To me, my art is a dialogue with the unknown.  Art exposes my fears and addresses concerns such as meaning of life and death, love and cruelty, sacrifice and redemption in the constant hope to define that which cannot be known.  My art thrives on metaphysical ideas, which are as old as human consciousness, contrasting with futuristic visions.  A great work of art is not just a taught skill or talent, but also the reflection of the intellect and compelling imagination of its creator.   My art has the capacity to bemuse, delight and can provide an antidote for a chaotic life.  www.MalgorzataKaganiuk.com
