Marie Chapian

Artist's note:

I'm an author who began an art career as an illustrator-cartoonist, and studied at the Art Students League in NYC.  I've shown in a number of galleries and venues in New York including the Gotham Gallery and the New Directions Art Gallery in Greenwich Village.

While writing books, and earning other degrees, including a PhD in counseling, I continued to paint and sell my whimsical drawings.  I became a psychotherapist and continued to paint and earn an AA in studio art.  I had a two-person show in Old Town, San Diego, and my large-scale panel paintings were featured for a week on KUSI TV.   As an author of over thirty books, countless magazine articles, a column and reviewing for the San Diego Union Tribune, I have illustrated three children's books published by Bethany House and Destiny Image Publishers.

Please contact me at resource@mariechapian.com for price information of work you may be interested in, or for commissioning me for a painting.
